Tofu Veggie Steak

Ingredients (yields : 16 servings)
  • 3 cups grated firm tofu

  • 1 cup finely chopped onion

  • 4 cups chopped mushrooms

  • 1 cup grated beets

  • 1/4 cup olive oil + more to brushing and drizzling

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp piment doux de la Vera

  • 4 cups chickpea flour

Realisation
  1. Line the baking tray with parchment paper, then brush with olive oil;

  2. Mix the grated tofu and vegetables together well;

  3. Mix 1/4 cup olive oil, soy sauce and piment doux de la Vera together, then add it to the tofu-vegetable mixture and mix well;

  4. Add the chickpea flour, 1/2 cup at a time;

  5. Scoop the patty using a 60 ml ice cream scoop onto the baking tray;

  6. Press the patty ball flat to form a 2 cm-thick patty disk, then drizzle with olive oil;

  7. Bake in a 180ºC over for 15 minutes;

  8. Serve with your desired sauce and enjoy!
