Braised Tofu in Red Sauce

Ingredients yields : 4 servings)
  • 250 g firm tofu

  • 125 ml soy sauce

  • 125 ml Chinese yellow wine

  • 70 g white sugar

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp water

Realisation
  1. Cut the tofu into 5 cm cubes;

  2. Mix the soy sauce, Chinese yellow wine and white sugar together;

  3. Marinate the tofu in the mixture overnight;

  4. Bring the marinade and the tofu to a boil, then turn down the fire and simmer for 20 mins;

  5. Dilute the cornstarch in water, then add it to the tofu to thicken the sauce;

  6. Serve with the mashed potato and spinach velouté, and enjoy !
