Ingredients of Tofu
Tofu is made of three ingredients: soybeans, water and coagulant.
Soybeans
Soybeans, the soul of tofu, come in three categories: yellow soybeans, green soybeans and black soybeans. Usually, yellow soybeans are chosen for tofu production.
Water
Water serves as the body of tofu, and the use of soft water is recommended for optimal tofu manufacturing.
Coagulant
The coagulant, the link between the soul and body of tofu, helps coagulate soy milk by causing proteins to bind together, forming curds that can then be pressed to make tofu. (Learn more...)
