Tofu Mohnnudeln

Ingredients (yields : 2 servings)
  • 200 g firm tofu

  • 1 egg

  • 50 g all-purpose flour + extra for shaping the dough

  • A pinch of salt + 1 tsp

  • 1000 ml water

  • 30 g ground poppy seeds

  • 25 g powdered sugar

  • 30 g butter

Realisation
  1. Finely grate the tofu;

  2. Mix the tofu and egg together until well combined;

  3. Combine the flour with a pinch of salt;

  4. Add the flour mixture to the tofu-egg mixture, and mix until a dough forms;

  5. Shape the dough into finger-shaped dumplings about 1/2 inch thick, dusting the surface with more flour if needed;

  6. Bring the water and 1 tsp pf salt to a boil;

  7. Add the dumplings and cook until they rise to the surface, then continue to cook for another minute;

  8. Drain the dumplings;

  9. Mix the ground puppy seeds and powdered sugar together until well combined;

  10. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat;

  11. Add the drained dumplings, and cook until lightly golden;

  12. Turn off the heat, then add the poppy seed-sugar mixture;

  13. Toss the dumplings with the mixture until evenly coated;

  14. Serve warm and enjoy!
