Description
Chuhou sauce is presented in a thick paste with a deep caramel color. It essentially is an upgraded version of mochijiang. Building upon the foundation of the prototype sauce mochijiang, it adds pork fat or soybean oil to thicken its texture. Additionally, it incorporates various spices such as garlic, star anise, cinnamon, and dried tangerine peel, which help eliminate the gamy odor of meat. This design feature makes it particularly suitable as a seasoning for cooking meat.
